Market Researcher
The Role and the Team
BLC exists to make life better for the people who keep us all safe. Our research team sits at the centre of how the business understands its members and its market - and we're looking for a researcher with expertise in quantitative and market research who brings real rigour to everything they touch.
You'll give the business a numbers led read on members, market position, and commercial opportunities - not just delivering research, but ensuring the evidence is trusted, well-designed, and used to drive decisions. Reporting to the Senior Research Manager, you'll work closely with Partnerships, Commercial, and Marketing teams, connecting member needs, market data, and partner opportunities to help shape stronger propositions.
It's a role for someone who doesn't wait to be briefed - who spots what the data is saying and brings it forward with clarity and confidence.
What You'll Do
Design and run surveys, trackers, and quantitative studies end-to-end, from sample design through to analysis and delivery of decision-ready findings
Track market trends, competitor activity, and category benchmarks to build a consistent, ongoing view of BLC's market position
Run brand health, pricing, and proposition research to inform commercial and marketing strategy.
Partner with Commercial and Partnerships teams to turn partner questions into broader learning opportunities, identifying where research can uncover category, proposition, or growth opportunities beyond the immediate brief
Work closely with Data and Analytics teams to triangulate survey findings with behavioural data and interpret experimentation outputs
Identify and prioritise high-impact research opportunities aligned to business goals, presenting evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders with clarity
Contribute to evolving how the research function operates, helping define what success looks like and how impact is measured
What You'll Bring
Experience in quantitative research methods, including survey design and tracker studies, with the ability to run studies independently from brief through to insight delivery
Solid grounding in market research, including competitor analysis, brand tracking, and category insight
Commercial awareness, with the ability to see beyond the immediate research question and connect findings to member needs, partner opportunities, and business outcomes
Confidence working with Data and Analytics partners, interpreting behavioural data and experimentation outputs alongside survey evidence
Excellent communication skills, with a track record of presenting evidence-based recommendations to senior and cross-functional stakeholders
Experience in a membership, retail, loyalty or FMCG environment would be a bonus, as would familiarity with online research panels or community platforms
