Workspace & Facilities Manager
Create welcoming, safe workplaces across Leicester, London and Sydney. Lead a hands-on team, improve colleague experience and shape spaces where people thrive.
The Role and the Team
Great workplaces never happen by accident. At Blue Light Card, our offices in Leicester, London and Sydney are where colleagues come together to do their best work, and we want every one of them to be welcoming from the moment someone walks through the door.
As our Workspace & Facilities Manager, you will measure everything you do by the experience it creates for colleagues. You will gather feedback, act on it visibly and build workplaces colleagues genuinely want to come to.
This is a hands-on role that combines operational know-how with a warm, service-led mindset. You will lead the Workplace & Facilities team, manage suppliers and budgets, and be the main point of contact for facilities at every site, keeping each office safe, compliant and running smoothly.
What You'll Do
· Champion the colleague experience at every site, from the first impression on arrival to the everyday details that make the office work well, proactively gathering and acting on feedback.
· Own the delivery of building services, maintenance, cleaning, security and office services across all three locations, keeping standards consistently high so colleagues can focus on their work.
· Coach and support the Workplace & Facilities team to think like hosts, giving regular feedback and backing each person's development.
· Manage the global facilities budget, tracking spend and reporting on variances.
· Build strong relationships with suppliers, landlords and building management teams, managing contracts, renewals and service level agreements so they deliver value for money.
· Deliver facilities projects such as refurbishments, office moves and space planning, working with internal teams and contractors while keeping disruption to colleagues to a minimum.
· Keep every site safe and compliant, including planned preventative maintenance, risk assessments, first aid and fire warden cover, and DSE assessments.
· Shape inclusive, accessible and flexible spaces and in-office events that bring colleagues together.
· Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives in support of our ESG strategy.
What You'll Bring
· Proven experience managing workplace or facilities operations across more than one site, ideally in a growing or multi-location business.
· A strong service mindset, shown by putting colleagues or customers at the centre of your work, understanding what they need and acting on their feedback to improve their experience.
· Experience managing and developing a team.
· Experience managing budgets and supplier contracts, with strong supplier and stakeholder management skills, including holding providers to SLAs.
· Working knowledge of health and safety, fire safety and DSE requirements, with the confidence to work alongside specialists on compliance.
· A track record of delivering facilities projects such as office moves, refurbishments or space planning with contractors and third-party vendors.
· Clear, assured communication, including reporting to senior stakeholders in plain language, alongside a practical, hands-on approach and the energy to keep things running smoothly day to day.
Experience managing facilities across different countries, a recognised health and safety qualification, or experience delivering sustainability or ESG initiatives would be a bonus, but are not essential.
Our Culture
Our mission is simple: make heroes happy. Our members are real-life heroes who keep us all safe, cared for, and thriving. It's what gets us up in the morning, what makes us want to think bigger, and create something that truly matters. By focusing on their happiness, we create amazing experiences, deliver unrivalled discounts, innovative products, and world-class service.
We don't just follow the usual path - we look for smarter, bolder ways to deliver real impact. We take ownership, move fast, and work shoulder to shoulder to build something special.
We promote hybrid working, and value in-person collaboration so encourage time in our offices – either the HQ in Leicestershire, or London, Holborn office. The frequency and office location will vary depending on the role and team. We aim to be flexible, but we aren't able to offer fully remote working.
Blue Light Card is an equal opportunities employer. We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team where different perspectives and experiences help us grow, innovate, and better reflect the communities we serve. We make recruiting decisions based on your experience and skills. In the event of a high number of applications, we'll prioritise candidates who meet both the essential and desirable criteria for the role.
