Workplace & culture
Our members, partners and colleagues are at the heart of everything we do.

We work as a team and try to have a bit of fun while we do it, and we recognise the importance of culture and the positive impact it can have on performance for you, the team, our organisation and our members. We believe in attracting the best talent no matter where you are. We promote hybrid working, and value in-person collaboration so encourage time in our offices, where you can make the most of our fully stocked snack drawers – either the HQ in Leicestershire, or London, Holborn office. Our commitment to sustainability
-
Doing the right thing
Doing good doesn’t stop at discounts. It also means taking responsibility for the impact we have on the world around us, and doing everything we can to be a business that’s good for people, planet, and purpose.
That’s why we’ve developed a clear and transparent Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, which supports four of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and it has been built around the things that matter most to us: our people, our members, our communities, and our world.
-
Our colleagues
We know that change doesn’t happen overnight, but we’re in this for the long haul and we’re committed to embedding ESG more deeply into everything that we do, from onboarding to operations.
We believe that being a good employer, a responsible partner, and a conscious business is the right thing to do and it’s the best way to ensure that BLC continues to serve those on the frontline with integrity, impact, and heart.
Our culture is one where everyone has the chance to make a difference, whether that’s through volunteering, leading colleague initiatives in our ‘Culture Club’, or contributing to our inclusive workplace.
-
Our environment
We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment and our target to be net-zero by 2045 has been approved by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). We continually improving our office environments with upgrades to our office lighting and installing solar panels and electric vehicle charging points on site at our head office. We’ve also introduced smaller and impactful initiatives such as using glass milk bottles, using recycled paper products in our offices, and removing one-use plastic cups.
